Be flexible

As you look for entry-level employment opportunities we highly recommend you consider the position you are in and try to be as flexible as possible. With flexibility comes opportunity. As you expand your job search, you will be surprised at what you are able to find. You may not be in the same job market that you had starting the school year, but you do have options. It’s all about how you approach it. 

Look for transferable positions 

While we know your dream job may not be available, the next best thing may be closer than you think. Look for jobs where you can gain transferable experience for your next position. Employers are always seeing soft skills such as communication and organization in job listings, which are important for any role and can be easily transferable.

Continue Networking

This is by far going to be your best resource to get solid leads. Join your campus alumni network and create profiles on job board sites such as Handshake and LinkedIn. Though the pandemic may have slowed down hiring conversations, it’s always good to stay connected. Companies will reopen and entry level positions will become available again. 

Keep your skills top of mind

You have obtained many skills the past 4-5 years so make sure you highlight these on your resume and on your online profiles. When you have a more diversified set of skills, you can search for a job outside of your comfort zone.
